At My MOT Status, our goal is simple. We help you check MOT status, MOT expiry, tax status, and MOT history in a clear, tool-first format using your vehicle registration number. To do this responsibly, we rely on official UK Government vehicle data sources and use official APIs where applicable.

Our MOT results are based on the DVSA MOT history data made available to authorised third parties. This data can include MOT test dates, expiry dates, pass/fail outcomes, mileage readings, and reasons for failure or advisory notices. The modern MOT History API also brings multiple vehicle types under one service and includes coverage for Great Britain and Northern Ireland within the stated historical ranges.

For vehicle and tax-related details, our platform aligns with DVLA data access models. The DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service (VES) is a REST-based government API that uses a vehicle registration number to return vehicle details in a structured format for authorised use. This makes it suitable for presenting clear views of vehicle information and tax-related fields where available.

We focus on presenting these results in plain language, with extra context for drivers and used car buyers. Our role is not to replace official documentation.
